While we were staying at my grandparents in Oregon, my mom's friend Kathy and her son came to visit and stay a couple days. We took them to see my Papa's cranberry bogs that he runs, and conveniently there was a walk through safari park on the way in Bandon. I'm all over spending the day with animals, especially when I get to pet them.
We arrived just in time to pet this lion cub, who was thankfully busy with his chew toys so he didn't use our arms. On our way in we passed the cheeky monkey above who loved to make faces at us, and we went back and watched him/talked to him for a good ten minutes before carrying on with the rest of the park.
There were pretty much goats everywhere you turned. They really had the run of the entire place, but there were also some alpacas and peacocks roaming around as well, and they let you pet them!
We seriously were like kids in a candy shop here, running around petting all the animals, and chasing peacocks. The West Coast Safari park is touted as a walk through safari, I'm not entirely sure how this is much different than a zoo, other than the amount of animals running around wild for you to touch. If you find yourself in the area, head to the safari park for some super cute animals and your goat-petting fix for the year. (Here is the website, but it doesn't seem to be working for me right now, not sure what's going on with that?)
